A beautiful find...

She hasn't had her first photo shoot yet... but here's a beautiful 13 gram, probable female. As you can see she is a beautiful tri-color harley with some pin and a couple of dalmatian spots. I just couldn't pass her up :)

Look at this next picture closely.... do you see it?
There is, in fact, a gecko on that scale... she's just that dark (she wasn't fully fired either). Our little darkness, Mowgli, is growing like a weed! Before you know it, we're going to need a male for her.
Hatchling Update: Flotsam & Jetsam
AKA Mini-Nala and Mini- Spike
Weighed in at 1.9 grams
Hatchling Update: Michelangelo & Rafael
From Gambit x Goliath
Weighed in at 1.7 & 1.9 grams, respectively
Hatchling Update: Leonardo & Donatello
Rafiki x Gambit
Weight: 1.7 grams each
**Hatched early due to heat wave, hoping Donatello's tail will straighten out**

And we leave you with an updated photo of the lovely Aladdin, who weighed in at 26 grams. Another fast grower... perhaps she's hurrying to be with Spike??

Oh boy...

There's been a bunch going on here at LGP Gecko in the last two weeks.....

Three geckos have found new homes (Leonidas, Ducky, and Sprite)

Three new geckos have arrived (Sebastian, Ariel, and GT)

Four eggs have hatched (Flotsam & Jetsam, Ren &Stimpy)

Many eggs have been laid (8 with Doughball in her laybox as we speak)

New tanks and shelf has been added to accommodate all the changes.

Let's start with a silly photo.... prior to everyone getting their place on the new shelf, the geckos were all fed their weekly crickets. Milo loves this time of the week... he loves the escapees [crickets that is]. Here he is eyeballing the crickets that are jumping around in the tanks.

Nala is one of our hardest geckos to photo graph... her pattern just seems to be washed away no matter if I use flash or not. Here's about as close as it gets to being true to life. She's such a pretty lady.

Our geckos REALLY like the peach flavored CGD. They were on banana but we saw some weight drop in a few adults so we switched and have been finding big chunks out of bowls since. Evidence: Raja (top), Phoenix (middle), and Aladdin (bottom) all showing down at the same time.

These ladies love their peach as well... but already ate and now are having difficulty figuring out who should be in line where... took a minute and stepping on each others' heads but they worked it out.

Now onto the new setups... We added another shelf on the other side of the room to accommodate the growing number of hatchlings and move some of the larger tanks off the top of the other shelves.

New Hatchlings: Flotsam & Jetsam (from Little Mermaid)
These are Spike x Nala's first hatchlings... exactly what we expected from them. Partial pins with harley patterning.
They aren't even two weeks old yet and they will only get better.

We posted pics of Ariel in the last post but Sebastian wasn't being cooperative last time so here he is along with GT, our new pinstripe.

Both of these gentleman are weighing 21 grams so it will be some time before we have them breeding. We will be on the look out for the perfect match for GT though.

Hoping any day for another set of Gambit eggs to hatch. Her first two hatchlings have already found homes. The next set to hatch would be our first from the Goliath x Bagheera pairing... hopefully VERY dark.

Pineapple and Brooklyn both laid infertile eggs this past week. Supposedly Pineapple was with a male prior to us having her and SUPPOSEDLY laid eggs two weeks before we got her (which would be in the beginning of May) so it doesn't quite add up. Hoping they are just her body's natural response. Now Brooklyn we've had for about 2 weeks and the prior owner didn't think she was bred so we're hoping for the same reason as Pineapple.

Oh the joys of eggs.

Rafiki, Gambit, and Yoshi have all laid in the past two weeks as well. Those eggs appear to be doing fine. Doughball & Bagheera should be laying this week.

OY. That's enough updates for now. Have a great week!

Getting Red :)

Yes, we finally have a pair of reds! For Ryan's birthday, I had his mom and my mom (and a lot of me) come together to purchase a sub-adult male/female pair. I got them from Andrew Schnell. Here's the female, Ariel:

Sebastian was a little cranky after being stuck in a deli cup for the ride from Oregon so pictures of him will have to wait. Just pictured Ariel with a bulge in the back and you've got him.

Also, Nala's first eggs hatched and WOW, do they take after their dad, Spike. Their names are Flotsam & Jetsam.
Check them out:

Cannot wait until they get bigger... these photos were even before their first shed!! I'll have to take more soon. The next anticipated eggs are Bagheera's but we'll have a set of Gambit & Rafiki eggs hatch before then. Looks like we'll have another Gambit set too... I guess she's just not have "cooling" right now... oh well.

Hatchlings coming out of our ears...

We have welcomed a few more little guys since our last post:
Pebbles (06/11) & Bam Bam (06/15)

Ren & Stimpy (07/03 & 07/04)

There will be updated pictures and weights on the unsexed page as well.. which Nemo will removed from and put onto the females page... 14 grams and no pores. Oh and did I mention she's getting more spots? Check her out:

Windy City Reptiles held a raffle last weekend with all proceeds benefiting USARK (United States Association for Reptile Keepers) where there were tons of prices....We won a gecko from Creepy Exotics! I (Teresa) was ridiculously excited because I've always wanted to get a gecko from Barb. I may or may not have squealed. He has been so laid back, and being orange & black, we've named him Garfield. He's handsome :)

We will be updating weights & some photos tomorrow. Our available page has updated photos and weights of several geckos that are looking for a new home as well.
Be sure to check them out!
