Sorry for the lack of posts... been busy! You know how it goes.

We've added a few different geckos including a sub-adult male from Pangea named Baloo. He's a dark male for Mowgli in the spring. We also picked up a sub-adult female from Pangea named Penelope for Garfield.

And.... We have the first babies from Pickles x Doughball: Snuffleapagus and Oscar the Grouch. Hatched out at 1.7 and 1.9 grams. They are such little cuties. I can't wait until we can get some photos of them. The names were switched because Snuffleapagus ended up having green hues and Oscar was brown, so it only seemed fitting.

All of our ladies are on a laying hiatus despite them being in warm temperatures. Oh well...  but we are in need of male gargoyle. We cannot find a 30+ gram reticulated male with orange blotches around here! If anyone has one, please LET US KNOW!

We will be having a little Christmas sale soon....

Meet the Gargs!

We've added 4 very new faces here... gargoyles geckos! Oreo (aka Big Mama) came to us from Derek Dunlop, paired with a red striped female formerly. Doritos also came from Derek Dunlop as a female. Darkwing Duck (aka Stick) is a little cutie who came from Supreme Gecko. The little guy below hasn't made it to the gargoyle page yet... named Oberweis. When we first got him (or her) it was practically all white with little black markings. Obviously, that is not the case anymore!

There also updated pictures and weights on the Available and Unsexed pages. New weights will be posted on the adults pages soon :)

Back from Tinley!

NARBC Tinley is over... and it was fantastic! We won VIP passes from Supreme Gecko (Thank you, Wally Kern and Brian Potter!). Got to meet and talk with some fantastic gecko people. And of course, we came home with a few new faces as well. While they won't have an official photoshoot for a few weeks, we figured we'd sneak in a few pics.

Meet the long awaited (well maybe only a week) Shelby! Just look at that back :)
She will be with GT in the spring. From Supreme Gecko (thanks Wally!)

In between the show and the auction, the geckos got to hang out at Culvers.

This next one is Mufasa... crowned head with nice pinning.
He will be with Sarabi in the spring. From Ariel Cudia

We got our very first Gargoyles, too!
Meet Darkwing Duck. Goes from a light gray, to jet black with orange. From Supreme Gecko (thanks Chris!)

Next up is Dorito. We love the retic look in gargoyles, especially with orange and red in them.  This one has a lot of orange, even in her tail! From Derek Dunlop.

This chunky mama is Oreo. She's gravid from a redish striped male from Derek Dunlop.
She's massive and such a sweetheart.

In other news, our dubia colony is growing! Their bucket got cleaned and egg cartons replaced today. Before that happened, we thought a pic was due of all of them hanging out without their hiding places. Ain't the cute?!?!? Not.

Bagheera will be shipping out this week for Oklahoma. With Brooklyn and Tails now with Goliath, Bagheera is just extra. Why not spread the dark gecko love??

Stay tuned for more pictures and weights in the next few weeks!
Maybe even a leachie!

I'm going to Tinley.... see you there!

It's almost here! Thank goodness for the counter on the side keeping me in check :)
If you are planning on going to NARBC Tinley, be sure to check out Supreme Gecko's ticket contest!!!

Supreme Gecko Contest!

We will be picking up our latest addition... SHELBY... from Supreme Gecko on Saturday. *Photo courtesy of Supreme Gecko**
She will be one of the cornerstones of our pinstripe project. Her and GT will be making beautiful babies... in the spring :)

Can't wait to see what else we'll find. Hope to see everyone there! On Saturday, I'll be in my WCR shirt, so if you see a nearly 6 foot tall young woman with glasses, it may just be me. Say Hello!

My bowl!

Super Busy, what else is new?
We are in need of some new photos of our hatchlings, desperately, but it will have to wait. We have had a few more hatchings: Tom and Jerry [a DARK pair from Goliath x Bagheera] and a no-name gecko from Goliath x Rafiki. (Name TBD once sibling hatches). Raja and Timon have been paired together as have Pickles with Doughball and Yoshi. Next weekend, Spike will be moved to Pineapple and Aladdin while Chips will be moving in with Rafiki. It's ALMOST time for Ariel and Sebastian, but not yet.

Here's a sneak peek though at a little guy we got from Donald Falk at the All Animal Expo. Nearly full pin with lateral stripes. Since s/he's a pinstripe... it gets a car name. This is 'Cuda [short for Barracuda]

We snuck in after feeding everyone and it was like they were all saying "MY BOWL!!"
Here's Aladdin and Phoenix (don't mind the water stains on the glass)

Mowgli and Ariel love their Peach!

Chips is happy to see you and the Peach!

Garfield wasn't going to let go of his bowl!

Sorry for the glare, but couldn't pass up sharing this one of Sebastian!

You know... we aren't just geckos around here!
Here's the prickly ones: Noodles & Oatie

And the Blue Tongue Skink, Pumbaa, in her new custom cage built by Ryan.

Everyone is growing like weeds around here! Cannot wait to share new pics of Flotsam and Jetsam, they look amazing. Be sure to check us out before you head to NARBC Tinley when everything will be updated! We are not far from the show :)

Many have found new homes!

If you have been on the unsexed or available page lately, you probably noticed that there are many geckos missing.... welp, they aren't missing, they've found new homes!! 5 of them have gone locally while 5 others will be heading to their new home in West Virginia on Monday (weather permitting). It is exciting to have our geckos be admired by others but also sad to watch them go... can't keep them all though, that could get dangerous.

We have put Phoenix up for sale... sub-adult female. We've watched her grow for the past 6 months when we got her from a man shipping off to the Marines... she's such a beauty, we've never seen anything quite like her, but we also can't find a male for her so we are offering her for sale. She is NOT ready to breed but should be by the end of the year, should her next owner decide to breed her.

There are still some geckos who need their photos updated, don't worry it's coming. We've been super busy (I still have to move my entire classroom to another building before school starts on the 29th!) but no worries :)

Check out the Updates!!!!

We finally got our light tent in the mail! It took a little time to get use to but its taking great pictures now. Be sure to check out the new pictures. Also updated are the "unsexed" page with all of our babies and the available geckos section. These pages will be fully updated in the near future.

Since our last posting, we have had 4 new hatchlings: Rocky and Bullwinkle, and Boris and Natasha. Their weights and pictures are listed under unsexed section. Here is a preview of the new babies.

Little busy...

We have to apologize for the delay in updating both weights/photos/and the available page. We had our annual camping trip for a good portion of the week/weekend, only to get a phone call [right before we got to SEWERfest on the way home from camping] saying there were bad storms the night before and the hedgehog's cage was blown across the room and the container with the eggs (which were set to hatch so the pair were taking out of the incubator box) was on the floor. Hedgehog was no wheres to be found, geckos were no where to be found. One egg had clearly hatched, and the other was completely missing. Oatie was found not far from his cage, unharmed. After tearing apart the rest of the room, only one of the geckos was found, tailless, but okay. His name is Houdini :) Still have no idea where the other egg went, whether the cat or hedgehog ate it or what.

Anyhow... our first Goliath x Bagheera egg hatched earlier this week... but unfortunately, was the very first of our hatchlings not to make it, passed away two days later. He did incubate for 70 days but it just wasn't long enough for him. :(

New pairing: Raja & Timon!! Both are of weight and are getting along great... two orange pinstripe geckos, sounds good right?

Goliath & Bagheera have been separated, Goliath has only been focusing on Bagheera and not his food so it was time for a TIMEOUT. Brooklyn will soon be ready for Goliath so we hope he gets to eating like a pig.

It looks like Gambit laid her first infertile egg... meaning we may need a BRIGHT yellow patternless male soon. :)

If you have been following our available page, here's the lineup that will soon show up on it:
Doc, Uno, Littlefoot, Pebbles, Ren, Stimpy, Lilo and Stitch.

We've had several people ask about Chevy, and unfortunately, s/he will be held back and we don't have intentions of selling Chevy at this time. Flotsam & Jetsam will eventually be for sale, but we are watching their colors develop.

I (Teresa) have gone back to working part-time-ish and grad class has started again so it's getting hard to update often. School [work!] will be starting in a few weeks as well, but Ryan will soon be doing updating as well. If you have any questions, please feel free to comment or send us an email at

A beautiful find...

She hasn't had her first photo shoot yet... but here's a beautiful 13 gram, probable female. As you can see she is a beautiful tri-color harley with some pin and a couple of dalmatian spots. I just couldn't pass her up :)

Look at this next picture closely.... do you see it?
There is, in fact, a gecko on that scale... she's just that dark (she wasn't fully fired either). Our little darkness, Mowgli, is growing like a weed! Before you know it, we're going to need a male for her.
Hatchling Update: Flotsam & Jetsam
AKA Mini-Nala and Mini- Spike
Weighed in at 1.9 grams
Hatchling Update: Michelangelo & Rafael
From Gambit x Goliath
Weighed in at 1.7 & 1.9 grams, respectively
Hatchling Update: Leonardo & Donatello
Rafiki x Gambit
Weight: 1.7 grams each
**Hatched early due to heat wave, hoping Donatello's tail will straighten out**

And we leave you with an updated photo of the lovely Aladdin, who weighed in at 26 grams. Another fast grower... perhaps she's hurrying to be with Spike??

Oh boy...

There's been a bunch going on here at LGP Gecko in the last two weeks.....

Three geckos have found new homes (Leonidas, Ducky, and Sprite)

Three new geckos have arrived (Sebastian, Ariel, and GT)

Four eggs have hatched (Flotsam & Jetsam, Ren &Stimpy)

Many eggs have been laid (8 with Doughball in her laybox as we speak)

New tanks and shelf has been added to accommodate all the changes.

Let's start with a silly photo.... prior to everyone getting their place on the new shelf, the geckos were all fed their weekly crickets. Milo loves this time of the week... he loves the escapees [crickets that is]. Here he is eyeballing the crickets that are jumping around in the tanks.

Nala is one of our hardest geckos to photo graph... her pattern just seems to be washed away no matter if I use flash or not. Here's about as close as it gets to being true to life. She's such a pretty lady.

Our geckos REALLY like the peach flavored CGD. They were on banana but we saw some weight drop in a few adults so we switched and have been finding big chunks out of bowls since. Evidence: Raja (top), Phoenix (middle), and Aladdin (bottom) all showing down at the same time.

These ladies love their peach as well... but already ate and now are having difficulty figuring out who should be in line where... took a minute and stepping on each others' heads but they worked it out.

Now onto the new setups... We added another shelf on the other side of the room to accommodate the growing number of hatchlings and move some of the larger tanks off the top of the other shelves.

New Hatchlings: Flotsam & Jetsam (from Little Mermaid)
These are Spike x Nala's first hatchlings... exactly what we expected from them. Partial pins with harley patterning.
They aren't even two weeks old yet and they will only get better.

We posted pics of Ariel in the last post but Sebastian wasn't being cooperative last time so here he is along with GT, our new pinstripe.

Both of these gentleman are weighing 21 grams so it will be some time before we have them breeding. We will be on the look out for the perfect match for GT though.

Hoping any day for another set of Gambit eggs to hatch. Her first two hatchlings have already found homes. The next set to hatch would be our first from the Goliath x Bagheera pairing... hopefully VERY dark.

Pineapple and Brooklyn both laid infertile eggs this past week. Supposedly Pineapple was with a male prior to us having her and SUPPOSEDLY laid eggs two weeks before we got her (which would be in the beginning of May) so it doesn't quite add up. Hoping they are just her body's natural response. Now Brooklyn we've had for about 2 weeks and the prior owner didn't think she was bred so we're hoping for the same reason as Pineapple.

Oh the joys of eggs.

Rafiki, Gambit, and Yoshi have all laid in the past two weeks as well. Those eggs appear to be doing fine. Doughball & Bagheera should be laying this week.

OY. That's enough updates for now. Have a great week!

Getting Red :)

Yes, we finally have a pair of reds! For Ryan's birthday, I had his mom and my mom (and a lot of me) come together to purchase a sub-adult male/female pair. I got them from Andrew Schnell. Here's the female, Ariel:

Sebastian was a little cranky after being stuck in a deli cup for the ride from Oregon so pictures of him will have to wait. Just pictured Ariel with a bulge in the back and you've got him.

Also, Nala's first eggs hatched and WOW, do they take after their dad, Spike. Their names are Flotsam & Jetsam.
Check them out:

Cannot wait until they get bigger... these photos were even before their first shed!! I'll have to take more soon. The next anticipated eggs are Bagheera's but we'll have a set of Gambit & Rafiki eggs hatch before then. Looks like we'll have another Gambit set too... I guess she's just not have "cooling" right now... oh well.

Hatchlings coming out of our ears...

We have welcomed a few more little guys since our last post:
Pebbles (06/11) & Bam Bam (06/15)

Ren & Stimpy (07/03 & 07/04)

There will be updated pictures and weights on the unsexed page as well.. which Nemo will removed from and put onto the females page... 14 grams and no pores. Oh and did I mention she's getting more spots? Check her out:

Windy City Reptiles held a raffle last weekend with all proceeds benefiting USARK (United States Association for Reptile Keepers) where there were tons of prices....We won a gecko from Creepy Exotics! I (Teresa) was ridiculously excited because I've always wanted to get a gecko from Barb. I may or may not have squealed. He has been so laid back, and being orange & black, we've named him Garfield. He's handsome :)

We will be updating weights & some photos tomorrow. Our available page has updated photos and weights of several geckos that are looking for a new home as well.
Be sure to check them out!
