New Breeders!

We picked up FIVE new breeders yesterday as a package deal. 3 females, 2 males... but we don't plan on keeping the males because we simply don't have enough room nor the females that would match them well. They are rather handsome... if we weren't pushing out at our seams we would keep them. Without further ado...

Green Lantern

Sprite

Cookie Dough (or affectionately known as Dough Ball), Gravid as you can see

Brooklyn

Yoshi

The Males housed separately and the females are all together (as there were formerly). Females are in quarantine for the next month but the males are looking for new homes... more pics upon request!

We will be updating the Available page as well. The following geckos are for sale: Green Lantern, Sprite, Doc, Ducky, Littlefoot. We are also accepting offers on Phoenix.

Updates abundant!

All weights have been updated on the gecko pages. Also photos for all of our hatchlings have been updates as well.

Here's Lilo & Stitch who hatched out on June 9th.

As mentioned in our last post, we did acquire a new lady, Peach, who is already at breeding weight at 36 grams. We just can't decide/haven't found a male that we want to put with her. She does have a stub tail from when she was a younger.

And now for a good news update! Leonidas has gained half of his weight since he came to us. On May 17th, he was right around 20 grams, he now weighs 30!!! He chows down every night. Check out our older posts for more of his story.

Here's the resident blue tongued skink- Pumbaa. She tends to sleep in the oddest positions. As you can see she's a rather BIG girl...

We've got the all animal expo tomorrow, but don't expect to get any new geckos, probably just some crickets!

Another day, Another hatchling...

We are now at 10 successful hatchings at LGP Gecko! That's 10 for 10!

Pebbles hatched out on 06/11, while her clutchmate hatched out on 06/15. Those days in between had me (Teresa) worried! Our other hatchlings usually came within 24 hours of their clutchmate. The latest little one, Bam Bam, is our first to have solid sides, and also the first to give us sass right out of the shell! I was trying to coax him into walking into his cricket keeper by gently poking his butt but he kept turning around with his mouth wide open! Here he is just coming out his egg...goo and all.

We think Bam Bam is going to look like Dad (Goliath) and Pebbles is showing yellow/orange and will look like mom (Gambit).

Pineapple is beginning to gain weight, good news for anyone awaiting tri color pinstriped harleys... because Spike is waiting for her, too! Caught her stretched out on the glass and snap a quick photo of her.

We were feeding everyone the Banana flavored CGD and noticed that a few of the adults had dropped weight. We have since switched to Peach flavored and noticed some gouges in the bowls the next morning. We'll know for sure on Friday when everyone gets weighed whether or not it's having an effect.

Mowgli continues to amaze us with how dark she is. This is without flash (obviously) but you can tell from her bright blue bowl how dark she is... practically black!! She has the little white on her tail, her mouth, and slight fringing but other than that... she's just a dark beauty.

I have been trying to prove people wrong with this one... the existence of a green crested gecko. It is the hardest thing to capture in photos. Here's Pickles, named because of his color, who, YES, is green about 95% of the time. He does fire to a dark green (olive) but this photo was taken after I was handling him for several minutes and he still was this green. He's so calm, too, *sigh* my favorite of all.

We did add another lovely lady to our collection, Peach, who hasn't gotten a photo shoot yet, but we'll save that for Friday after weights. For a "preview", she has Gambit's color (yellow) but some of Rafiki's traits (essentially patternless, with the dark lines on the sides of the dorsal but no change in the color of it, if that makes any sense).

We don't expect any more hatchlings for at least 2 weeks (Rafiki's, big surprise, she's an egg laying machine!) and then there will be another 2 week gap until Nala's hatch!

That's it for now.... but be sure to check out our available page. Doc, Ducky, and Uno are all looking for homes!

Another addition

Yes, another addition has been made over here at LGP Gecko. We've added a creamy super dalmatian male (Chips) to our breeding line up. He's patiently waiting for Rafiki to finish her cooling period right now.... meaning we'll have some super dalmatians in the future. Here he is (from Luarazzi):

Here's a look at our current set up. The larger terrariums each have their own light with a 5.0 UVB bulbs. The smaller tanks on the left have their lights rotated. On the top are our hatchlings and on the bottom are our incubating eggs.

Here's Spike & Nala's (left) and Rafiki & Gambit's (right)

Here's Goliath & Bagheera's (left) and Phoenix, Raja, and Aladdin's (right)
And the hatchlings....
Leonidas (left) and Mowgli & Doc (Right)

On the left, Chips. On the right, Iago, Nemo, and Tails.
On the left, Pineapple. In the middle, Timon (who will be getting out of this screen cage). On the right, Pickles.

Our incubating eggs! There are four other eggs in smaller containers as well. The two on the top left will be hatching any day now....

Welp. now you've seen everything. We are looking for a new home for Doc as he has turned out to be male and we don't have any projects that he'd fit in. Ducky will be needing a home in about a month or so as well.
We anticipate 4 hatchings in the next week or so (2 from Gambit and 2 from Rafiki). We'll be sure to post up pics as soon as they hatch!
