BAGHEERA!!

If you have ever seen Jungle Book... you'd understand the title... and that is our latest addition, Bagheera! We got her this weekend from Crested Creations when we were at Scott's All Animal Expo. She's a beauty weighing in at 37 grams.... she will soon be with Goliath, as it's time to let Gambit and Rafiki take a much deserved break.

Also couldn't pass up this little one... a red dalmatian (not fired up in this pic) with some big spots on it so far! Can only hope more will be added as it goes.... No pores yet, named Iago (after the bird in Aladdin)

As promised, FINALLY some photos of our terrarium setup.... I give up waiting for us to stop changing things. That'll happen hmmm maybe once we stop getting new geckos every other week.

The tanks/terrariums on the top left our extra... the incubator eggs are on the bottom in their little containers. We are hoping on two more to hatch any day now... *crosses fingers*
Also awaiting two from Nala x Spike.... the first two she laid after cooling are infertile.

Another little one...

Our second hatchling arrived the very next day. Both are doing well, but it's hard to handle the suspense of what way their colors are going to be. Here's a photo of them together:
Uno has a bit of pinstriping at the top of his dorsal with an S pattern. Little Foot has a chevron dorsal. Both have port holes, but that's all we can tell for now.

We also acquired a new big male. He's 50 grams right now... that's as big as Gambit when she's not gravid. It was really hard to capture his colors... these don't do him justice. He's an olive dalmatian, but has really green feet. He's the most laid back gecko we have. We can't decide on his name. When we went to pick him up, he looked really dark gray/brown and we were going to call him Baloo (Jungle Book) but after closer inspection, he wasn't brown or gray! So then we are torn at this point between Green Lantern and Turtle... it's got to be something green...

In other news, little Doc Hudson is really showing some nice coloring as s/he grows. S/He was a bit of *dare I say* boring little one that just looked like a brindle. Not totally fired up, but you can tell that we have an reverse orange tiger.

Last but not least, we wanted to show you Aladdin... who is still looking female :0) We are really hoping it stays that way because next year with Spike, we would have amazing Harley babies.

Welp, that's all for now... we believe Rafiki just laid another set of eggs.. ER Scratch that, literally just turned around and Ryan found a pair. Heading to Scott's All Animal Expo this weekend.... maybe we'll find a lady for the green guy?

Our First Hatchling!

Yes! Our first egg has hatched!!  This is from the first four eggs we found when we didn't even know our ladies were laying eggs. We know Goliath is the father though!

Here's the little one..

Cleaned off the Hatchrite, but we are still waiting on the first shed.

Now we are waiting for this hatchling's clutch mate to hatch... along with the other two eggs. Still excited!!!

Update!

We setup some new terrariums and are still waiting for one to arrive. We got a screen cage from Luarazzi on Pangea that we will be setting up as soon as the caulk dries.  I swear there will be photos of our setup soon.... one of these days we will stop changing it. We hope to have babies in hatch in a few weeks so we will be setting up hatchling tank as well.

Speaking of hatchlings... Nala's eggs still don't appear to be fertile, but we will keep incubating them until there's holes or mold. All other eggs still going strong! :0) I was hoping to get a new female... saw two beautiful reds at the AAE this weekend from CCHerps. Sent the photos to Ryan because he was at work (HA sucker!) but he replied no, until he came home from work and I asked why no on the beautiful red... he goes RED?! It looked white on my phone. Oy.... Needless to say, by the time I got in contact with CCHerps, they had already been sold. :( Oh well...

We have changed the groupings a little bit in the terrariums:
Spike x Nala
Goliath x Gambit, Rafiki
Doc & Mowgli
Tails & Nemo
Phoenix, Raja, & Aladdin

We based it on age/size... except Tails and Nemo. Tails is too small to be with Phoenix and the gang but she gets along so well with Nemo. We, well maybe just I (Teresa), would like to add another female with Spike before the summer but it has to be the right one.

I wanted to add some updated photos of the geckos... especially since our little ones are growing so fast!

In this corner... weighing in at 4.4 grams, we have Nemo (unsexed)

Joining him/her is Tails... she's (probable, no pores yet) weighing in at 6.6 grams

And in the other corner... we have Mowgli weighing in at 5.5 grams
Joining him/her is "Doc" Hudson...weighing in at 5.1 grams

No more wrestling introductions you say??? Alright. Here's big man on campus, Spike at 40 grams.

His lady friend, Nala, who is at 44 grams.

On to the our big lady, Gambit, at 53 grams

Gambit's BFF is Rafiki, at 43 grams

Here's the ladies' man, though a frog butt, Goliath is at 34 grams

In other news here's Raja...she's at 11.4 grams

Here's Aladdin... he (we believe...) is coming in at 8.6 grams having just shed minutes before this photo

Lastly, I wanted to leave you with a rare photo... one of Phoenix showing her (probable) colors, it looks like we will be shedding soon (look at her armpit). She's coming in at 11 grams

So we leave you with Phoenix waving... Adios!

We Won!!

For those of you who are fans of Gecko Time on facebook or their website.... We won the incubator contest!! Check it out here! We are very excited to be getting this incubator... our eggs deserve it! We will definitely leave some feedback on the incubator after having some time to use it. Hopefully it will be before the end of next month when more eggs are due... :)

Candled the eggs last night (NOTE: We do not pick them up in order to avoid any unnecessary handing, rather we use a pen light and hold them as close as possible to the egg without touching it).... we could see more than an embryo and more than a vein... you could see the shape of somebody in several of the eggs! ECSTATIC doesn't begin to describe how we feel!

We also candled Nala's eggs... though it has been about a week.... we figured we would try anyway and couldn't see anything :( Will candle in several days to see if there is any development, but the eggs were awfully narrow...

Figured a photo might be a nice touch... here's one of our latest additions hanging out in their temporary aquarium.

The new terrariums arrived on Wednesday and have both been set up... but we also won an exo terra 12x12x18 off ebay and are now awaiting it to arrive... we aren't sure who to move where...

Tomorrow is Scott's All Animal Expo, wasn't planning on going considering we literally just bought a new(to us) car today as the 12 year old, 200k mile Acura was overdue for a nap...but the new car has to go get new tires out in Naperville and it is just down the road :X
Maybe I'll just get some CGD...

I feel another post coming soon...
